Privacy policy

ExpectedCosts is a reference publisher. It reports cost figures and runs a set of browser-side calculators. This policy states what the site records, what it leaves alone, and what choices you have.

What the site records

Google Analytics 4 records aggregate activity: which pages were viewed, an approximate location inferred from the IP address, the device type and the referring page. No account is needed to use this site, and no name, postal address or payment detail is collected.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The amounts you type are not sent to us, not logged and not stored.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one session from another. Blocking them in your browser removes nothing from the site; every page still works. A link to a partner site may set its own cookies after you follow it, and those follow the partner's policy rather than this one.

What the site does not do

Personal information is not sold. No profile of an individual visitor is assembled. Nor is advertising run that targets you on the basis of a sensitive category such as a health condition or a financial difficulty.

Your choices

You can switch off Google Analytics measurement across every site with Google's browser add-on, or block the analytics script directly. Where the law gives you a right to see, correct or delete information held about you, write through the contact page and we will answer within the period the law allows.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
